Check the Weather

CHECKTHEWEATHER.NET is a national online community and web platform to support and amplify the voice of young people of color in the US fighting for environmental justice.  We are diversifying the green movement, not just by who we are, but by what we represent and how we define what it means to be green.  From policy to new media, hip hop to the green economy, direct action to cutting-edge interviews.  Respecting our history, our mentors, our communities and our generation, ChecktheWeather.net brings you our stories and our demands for a just and better future!”

BeeHive Designs Collective

BeeHive Designs Collective

To cross-pollinate the grassroots, by creating collaborative, anti-copyright images that can be used as educational and organizing tools.

In the process of this effort we seek to take the “who made that!?” and “how much does it cost!?” out of our creative endeavors, by anonymously functioning as word-to-image translators of the information we convey. We build, and disseminate these visual tools with the hope that they will self-replicate, and take on life of their own.

JustSeeds.Org

Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative is a decentralized community of artists who have banded together to both sell their work online in a central location and to collaborate with and support each other and social movements. Our website is not just a place to shop, but also a destination to find out about current events in radical art and culture. Our blog covers political printmaking, socially engaged street art, and culture related to social movements. We believe in the power of personal expression in concert with collective action to transform society.

Rising Tide

As a matter of survival, we must decrease our dependence on the industries and institutions that are destroying the planet and work toward community autonomy and sustainable living.

LVEJO’s Chicago Public Transit Blog

“Our mission is to work with our families, coworkers, and neighbors to improve our environment and lives in Little Village and through out Chicago through democracy in action. We work for a real voice in building democracy, including if, how, when and where any development of our communities takes place, as the basis for environmental, economic and social justice.”

LVEJO’s El Cilantro Blog

“El Cilantro was established by three LVEJO youth interns who felt strongly about our environment and how we can help make a difference. Since it began as a newsletter published both in print and on the web, El Cilantro has covered many issues and topics and had different guest writers and contributing artists. The youth membership of El Cilantro and YAOTL has expanded and we are reaching more people and addressing more issues than ever before. We are using media and social networking tools, in addition to organizing, protesting and writing, to help us bring the changes we so desperately need in Little Village.”
