Wednesday morning August 4th Alderman Ricardo Munoz of the 22nd ward in Little Village publicly announced that he has finally signed on as a co-sponsor for the Chicago Clean Power Ordinance. Ever since the introduction of the ordinance in early April Ricardo Munoz has been reluctant to say the least in making any kind of dedication for or against this ordinance. In the first few months while Munoz was “reviewing” the ordinance, he was very skeptical about the ordinance passing city council and would argue that the city of Chicago did not have the authority to regulate pollution emissions and that the pollution from the smoke stacks wasn’t even the main cause of respiratory disease in Little Village (he was more willing to blame the constant barrage of construction trucks coming off the high way). Due to constant pressure from his constituent and bad media from the press Munoz finally caved in and Signed on as a Co-Sponsor.
